Director of Youth Ministries
PART TIME 12-15 hours week, salaried position

Job Summary
The Director of Youth Ministries works with volunteers, parents, and other staff to ensure a stimulating, caring, nurturing environment where the youth of the church are educated about God, scripture, and community through an engaging youth group and additional age-appropriate events. Our Open and Affirming statement affirms that we love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and our neighbors include all races, ethnicities, physical and mental abilities, family configurations, sexual orientations, gender identities, and economic conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and select age and content appropriate curriculum for youth group (6th grade through High School).
- Lead once weekly youth group activities.
- Plan regular activities and programs for the spiritual and social development of youth in cooperation with the Christian Education committee. This would include, but not be limited to, service projects and mission projects.
- You will attend weekly staff meetings and monthly committee meetings.
- Coordinate and contribute social media posts to the office manager to promote youth activities with the external community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Director of Youth Ministries possesses a deep faith in Jesus Christ and has a heart and vision for the spiritual growth and nurture of youth. The person has working knowledge of the bible and is familiar with the emotional and developmental needs of youth. This position allows one to bring their own ideas and creativity to the job. This person is comfortable and successful working independently with minimal day to day supervision.

DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES
PART-TIME 15-20 hours week including Sunday mornings, salaried position

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and select age and content appropriate curriculum for
children’s Sunday School classes all year (3 years – 5th grade). - Recruit Sunday School teachers and provide curriculum needs for classes.
- Develop and share the weekly message with the children during the service.
- Plan regular activities and programs for the spiritual and social development of children in cooperation with the Christian Education committee. This would include, but not be limited to, service projects and mission projects.
- Organize and direct Vacation Bible School.
- Work with the Christian Education committee to provide nursery staff and volunteers for Sunday mornings.
- You will attend weekly staff meetings and committee meetings.

The person has working knowledge of the bible and is familiar with the emotional and developmental needs of children. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and self-motivator and able to work with minimal supervision.

Sound Board Technician
PURPOSE:
To support the ministry of St. Matthew by providing sound board support for our Sunday worship services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working in our A/V booth to handle sound for our worship service, live and streamed.
- Ensure all required microphones and instrumental inputs are set up and balanced prior to the service starting with sound checks with the different groups.
- Balancing sound in the Sanctuary during worship and for the livestream/recording.
- Monitor recording/stream feed, as well as in-house sound.
- Assist with sound in occasional outdoor services using a portable sound system.
- Occasionally required at rehearsals for sound balancing before special services such as cantata, music appreciation, Easter, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Tech savvy with some experience related to sound.
- A good ear for music to achieve a good blend of voices and instruments.
- Organized, responsible, and attentive to detail.
- Experience with sound boards a plus.
- Willing to learn our system (Allen and Heath GLD 80).
- Able to work well with others.
TIME COMMITMENT:
-
4-5 hours per week, with additional up-front training.
- Must be available on Sunday mornings from approximately 8:00-11:00, with a few extra hours of prep and post-service tasks.
- Also available for a few special events per year.
COMPENSATION:
$20-$25 per hour based on experience.
